About the Blog

Hi there!

I don't know who you are, and I don't know how you found out about my blog, but I'm glad you're here. I know this is going to be an adventure for me, and I hope it'll be an adventure for you too. Any post I write is open for comments, and I welcome anything you have to say, whether or not you agree with me.

The idea for the title of this blog comes from Genesis 1, where God created us in His image. God is perfect, so we have our basis in that perfection, though our sin has marred us. We should always be striving to be more like God, so we should always be striving to be perfect. If we set the bar high, we will improve, but not without His help.

God's creativity reveals itself all throughout creation. We can see how every little ant, shrub or speck of dust has its part in creation. If one thing had been missing or changed, everything would fall apart. But God created the world and saw that it was good (Genesis 1 again). So if we're striving to be like God, we should strive to be creative, right? But creativity on its own is not necessarily good--what we make with our creativity is what should be good. Creativity is merely a tool for making good things.

Sadly, the world has taken hold of creativity and made it an idol. In art school, teachers praise artists that are incredibly creative, but do not always take the time to praise a student for making good, true, or beautiful artwork. Because students are not being taught to use creativity to make good art, art is becoming simply abstract shapes with no meaning. That's not what I believe art should be. The world says that "imitation is bad," but honestly, what's wrong with imitating God's art?

I believe that we should strive to reflect God's perfection in every way. Whatever I share here is written, drawn, or painted with the purpose of glorifying God and growing closer to Him. Most days I hope to start my posts with questions I find interesting, and I will attempt to answer them to the best of my ability. I may not always answer them in full, but if you have anything to add, or have any ideas for future questions, feel free to leave a comment. My goal is that you will enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed making it. :)

Anyone who wishes to join me in this venture is free to come. I am always willing to take on guest writers--just shoot me an email!

Cheers!
